This is an easy circular walk on the Plateau de Grés to the west of Roqueredonde.
The walk is circular and totals about 9 km. We set off west from Roqueredonde on the Plateau de Grés, on a good track through open fields, then return through the woods of Les Brusques, which should be more sheltered. The section through the wood involves gentle descents and climbs, always on a generally good track.
The forecast for Thursday is for wind with not much sun. It will feel close to freezing, so wrap up well.
As usual we shall meet outside the Luteva Cinema at 9:50, ready to depart at 10:00. The walk will start from the main car park in Roqueredonde at about 10:30. We should be back in Lodeve by 14:00.
Distance: 9 km, climb 100 m
Bring: Warm clothes, gloves
This is a moderately hard circular walk of about 7 km which descends from Roqueredonde to the Orb river and then returns by the Plateau du Gres.
The first part of this walk (about 1.5 km) is a descent dropping about 150 m on a marked footpath, which is occasionally stony and tricky, until it reaches the hamlet of le Furou on the Orb river. The next (longer) section is a more gentle ascent on tracks and quiet roads (though with occasional steep sections), up to the Plateau du Gres. From here we return on a level track to the start. The forecast this week is for a continuation of the current sunny weather.
Now that we are in September and approaching the equinox we shall revert to our standard timetable. So we shall meet at the Luteva Cinema at 9:50 ready to depart at 10:00. The walk will start from the main parking area in Roqueredonde at about 10:40. We should be back in Lodeve by 13:30.
Distance: 8 km, climb 200 m
This walk is a circuit of about 7km starting at the Buddhist centre of Lerab Ling. There are three sections to the walk. First we descend by a good track to a quiet road near Autignaguet, then proceed along this road to Roqueredonde. From there we climb a steep but steady path back to the starting point – the total climb is about 200m, so this is quite a hard walk. The walk has excellent views across the Orb valley to the Guilhaumard plateau.
Parts of this walk are protected from the wind, but others are very exposed, so come warmly clad in cold or windy weather.
Distance: 6.8 km
