16 April 2015 – Early wildflowers on the Guilhaumard plateau

2004_0515CWThis week the walk was on the Guilhaumard plateau. This is a repeat of a walk that we did last year at the end of May, when we saw many different orchids and other early summer flowers. Mid-April is too early for orchids, but we should see the earlier spring flowers, including fritillaries and pasque flowers (a type of anemone). 2004_0515BC

The walk was fairly flat, on paths, tracks and a quiet road (no climbing).
The walk itself started from the parking area at the beginning of the road to Mas Raynal, just after the junction with the D493 (the road between la Bastide des Fonts and le Clapier).

Distance: 9 km
